Swissvale History

Sometimes garden nerds can also be history nerds. Since the 2023 Swissvale Edible Garden Tour was only about a week before the borough’s 125th birthday - aka its quasquicentennial celebration - we celebrated by pairing each garden stop with some local history. We also had recipe cards printed on a Swissvalian’s antique printing press, a table full of antiques to learn about at the picnic, and a chance for tour goers to visit local attorney and council member William Price’s private collection of local history artifacts in his office on Noble St.
