9am - 1pm Open Gardens - All over Swissvale

You are invited to explore gardens across the community of Swissvale! You can start at any of the gardens and visit as many as you’d like before Open Garden ends at 1PM. Meet the gardeners, ask questions, share tips, and get ideas for your own current or future garden. Please refrain from picking food or flowers unless given permission by the host.

Pick up a map at the event Info Table at the Swissvale Farmer’s Market or use the online map. Remember this is a community-wide event in an urban neighborhood - that means visitors need to be respectful of neighbors, especially if you’re parking a car. Look out for driveways and make sure not to block them! The garden stop hosts’ neighbors will appreciate it.

1:30pm - 3:30pm Community Picnic at the Swissvale Farmers Market

Community members, visitors, and garden hosts gather at Dickson Preparatory Steam Academy (7301 Schoyer Ave) for food, music, all-ages activities, and a drawing for a garden-themed gift basket.

We’ll have some local food favorites to enjoy, including sandwiches from Triangle Bar and ice cream sandwiches from Swissvale Dari Delite. We’ll also have free corn to take home if you’d like! We’ll have seating but feel free to bring a camp chair or picnic blanket if you’d like to go relax in the grass.

Local band Paz & Ukulele Eddie will be playing, featuring harmony vocals, acoustic guitar, and ukulele.
