House History
Especially if you live in an older home, it’s natural to be curious about previous owners, things that have happened there, and how things have changed on your street since your house was built. We’ve partnered with the Carnegie Free Library of Swissvale to help residents learn more about their homes!
What to expect at a House History Workshop:
Presentation + guided independent work with our help
Unless noted otherwise, please bring your own laptop or tablet.
This is a great chance to learn all about the free (and nearly free) resources available if you want to look into your home’s past, including previous residents.
What to expect at House History Office Hours:
Our house history team invites you to ask us anything about your old home during our office hours at the library. We can help you get started, dig deeper, or get through roadblocks in your research.
Stop by anytime during office hours; to reserve a time slot, call 412-731-2300 or email carnegiefreelibraryofswissvale@gmail.com.
